Wellness

Have you ever felt pre-occupied? If you have, then chances are you have too much on your plate at work. Being pre-occupied might make you forget things or zap you of your energy.

If there is something at work that is really bothering you, then try to resolve it. If you can’t, speak to your manager or someone in HR to resolve the issue for you. It could be a simple ergonomics issue like your chair being uncomfortable or a complicated one like you being inundated with work day after day. Working without worries will make you more creative and productive.

If you find that most of your work is pretty much routine and bordering on boring, then find that one thing that you really like and draw inspiration from it or take an extra responsibility that will give you a sense of purpose.

Having congenial relationships with your colleagues will also make you feel happier and supported. It’s a great idea to dwell on the finest parts and benefits of your work. However, if you are unhappy on all counts, then it’s probably best to look for a new role.

Consider upgrading your skills by learning something new that would add to your talent and help you work not only independently but also in collaboration. This may help you to grow and feel more valued.

Occupational wellness continues outside the work realm too, so find activities of interest outside work that de-stress and engage you and give you energy to start afresh the next day.

Manage your time between your work life and personal life in a way that you are satisfied with both. Don’t spend too much time at work leaving you none to relax. On the other hand, don’t have such a hectic personal schedule that leaves you tired when you get to work.

Occupational wellness can be achieved by enjoying your work and also by striking a reasonable work-life balance.
